7. The Righteous Avoid Bray Wyatt's Recruitment (WWE NXT, December 2022)

WWE brought back a glut of released talent across 2022 and oft-cited as the chief amongst them was Bray Wyatt. With the company opting for more of a cryptic series of teases that provided fans with weekly clues instead of him rocking up on a random Raw, Bray Wyatt was reliving the peak he'd had in NXT. He was red-hot and WWE wanted to capitalise on this.

A Wyatt 6 stable was proposed, with Liv Morgan, Joe Gacy, and Alexa Bliss among the names thrown around to join, but so, too, were Vincent and Dutch of The Righteous, who'd seemingly both become free agents after they dropped Ring of Honor's trios titles the previous July. Eyebrows were raised during the 6 December NXT broadcast, as they were spotted sitting amongst the audience, going unmentioned throughout the broadcast, but their presence caused an unearthly feeling in the air.

It was known publicly that they were in town, partaking in the December 2022 WWE tryout, and with nothing ever coming of this, the likely case is that WWE wanted to make the morning headlines.

They should've gone with someone other than The Righteous, then. More fuss was kicked up over how stacked the 2008 WWE roster was than anything to ever involve Vincent and Dutch.
