10 Times Wrestlers Went Nuts On Fans
2. Le Punch Dans La Face
Unquestionably the most widely reported wrestler-fan brawl on this list, Chris Jericho's run-in with a gang of disgruntled fans following a WWE show in British Colombia is the stuff of legend.
According to reports, Jericho (who was in the midst of his excellent 'Best In The World At What He Does' character run) was attempting to leave when his car was surrounded and attacked by an angry mob. Insults fly as security fail miserably to defuse the situation, and as Y2J attempts to get back into his vehicle he's rushed by a female fan who punches the former world champion and spits in his face. Jericho then lashes out at her as the whole scene descends into chaos.
The woman is pushed to the floor by 'The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla' and when her partner attempts to retaliate, he's tackled by security as Jericho yells at them to do their "f*cking jobs". It's an ugly scene for all involved and received widespread press attention at the time. Thankfully, nowadays Jericho seems to have mellowed, and fans don't take heel schtick so seriously.
