10 Times Wrestlers Were Broken In The Hard Way

3. "Some Wannabe"

"Some Wannabe" is the name cited on this hard-to-watch YouTube video, but per old-timey apocrypha, several more suffered the 'Sugar hold': Bob Roop's quite literal interpretation of separating those equipped to handle pro wrestling, and those who perceived it as an easily-exploited sham from which to milk money.

Dispatched by Championship Wrestling From Florida promoter Eddie Graham, Roop would position the hapless "marks" in a full nelson before forcing them face-first on the canvas and pressing his knees into their upper back. The squeals this man emits are harrowing, and it's difficult to view this as anything but unnecessary through a 2018 lens - the best wrestlers in 2018 underwent no such "training", and are arguably the greatest to ever lace boots - but it was just a different time.

The move itself does not boast much visual impact, hence its lost-to-time aura - but those trapped in it would, per the legendarily ornery Ole Anderson, urinate, defecate, and rupture the blood vessels in their eyes.

Good job 'Taker didn't apply it to Sid at WrestleMania 13.
