Two years after the Nation's woeful display in the Rumble, Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James also decided that a numerical advantage didn't interest them. The match was once again coming down to the nitty-gritty, and with just six men left in the ring D-Generation X found themselves making up some 50% of the combatants.

Instead of making the most of this advantage, Gunn decided to tip Road Dogg over the top rope to the floor, eliminating his WWF Tag Team Championship partner. This did Gunn no good either, as whilst the two were arguing Gunn was eliminated by Kane. The tag champs pulled the Big Red Monster outside, but he was able to re-enter the match eventually.

Professional wrestlers aren't always known for their decision-making abilities, and the lack of awareness shown in the 2000 Royal Rumble by Billy Gunn was just another in a long line of poor decisions made by tag team wrestlers. The latter stages of the Royal Rumble are clearly professional wrestling's version of rugby's white line fever.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
