10 Times Wrestlers Were Literally Given Championships
2. Dolph Ziggler (WWE World Heavyweight Champion)
Dolph Ziggler holds the distinction of having probably the two least memorable runs with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in history.
While his second title win was nothing less than a folkloric moment in wrestling, the occasion aside, it was a meaningless win over an injured Alberto Del Rio - ensuring Dolph's second run as champion began (and ended) with little credibility.
However, it was at least more credible than his first reign.
Two years prior to his historic victory on the post WrestleMania 29 Raw, Ziggler was embroiled in a losing feud with Edge.
Having lost every one of their encounters, regrettably establishing himself as a perennial mid-carder in the process, Ziggler's on screen girlfriend and SmackDown General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, stripped her former beau Edge of the title for using the banned spear.
Coronating her new lover Ziggler as the new World Heavyweight Champion on the 14 February 2011 Smackdown, the Show Off's reign would prove to be short lived.
In what can only be attributed to an homage to Vince Russo, Ziggler dropped the title right back to Edge before the end of the show.
