10 Times Wrestling Companies Fed You Total BULLSH*T

9. “Once In A Lifetime”

Triple H WWE Control
WWE

WWE aren't the only wrestling league on the planet who routinely back themselves into a corner then feign blissful ignorance. That's an industry trope, which is something that'll never change. In 2012-2013 though, Vinnie Mac's group did make everyone chortle when they almost instantly dismissed their own WrestleMania branding.

John Cena vs. The Rock at 'Mania XXVIII was going to be "Once In A Lifetime". It was your "only chance to see this dream match happen". Except, infamously, that wasn't true. WWE went on to promote the bout again at 'Mania 29, and even had the cheek to pretend "Once In A Lifetime" wasn't a thing.

That was a figment of your imagination.

Besides, the people had demanded Cena and Rocky go hammer and tongs a second time! So, if anything, this was your fault. Seriously though, few actually bought into the "Once In A Lifetime" thing when it launched. Something just smelled fishy.
