10 Times Wrestling Companies Fed You Total BULLSH*T
8. TNA Claims “Wrestling Matters Here”
TNA tried to take WWE head on in 2010, failed miserably and then settled into a nice groove by 2011. Several parts of the product were still a WCW-esque mess, but angles like Bully Ray's singles push, as well as the standard of matches involving Kurt Angle, AJ Styles etc, did maintain some interest.
Then, someone had a bright idea that'd differentiate TNA from WWE: "Wrestling Matters Here" was born, and it was something the company bashed viewers over the head with every two minutes. Hilariously, nothing really changed on TV. Angle would be spewing the slogan one minute, then some soap opera story would play out in the very next segment.
They weren't exactly presenting early-era ROH here.
"Wrestling Matters Here" turned out to be a hollow marketing campaign with little-to-no actual substance behind it. The only thing it did was briefly galvanise some support for TNA against WWE-led "sports entertainment", but then everyone realised TNA was presenting "sports entertainment" itself anyway.
