In the second match of TNA’s Genesis PPV Sean Morley beat Christopher Daniels clean with his Money Shot finisher. This did not sit well with crowd-goers that night, who actually turned their backs on Morley as he had his hand raised in victory. During the match babyface Morley was loudly booed and heel Daniels was largely cheered.

TNA had just started the Hogan/Bischoff era around this PPV, with both Hulk and Eric being signed in October 2009 to come into the company and usher in TNA becoming a major force in professional wrestling. But straightaway they were accused of just signing and brining in former WWE wrestlers who were at one time over, from Mr. Anderson, Ric Flair and Jeff Hardy to The Nasty Boys, Orlando Jordan and Sean Morley.

The former Val Venis debuted at the beginning of 2010 on Impact! in a backstage segment with The Beautiful People, milking his adult movie star gimmick once more. Daniels had been with TNA from the beginning days in Nashville. It felt like he and other TNA originals were being cast aside for whatever Hogan and Bischoff thought would work. TNA followers viewed Morley as just another ex-WWF talent dug up from the Attitude Era. Turns out it didn’t work; his run in TNA came to an abrupt end in March 2010.
