When it comes to hardcore mayhem, there a few wrestlers more synonymous with shocking bumps, brutal wars, and bloody in-ring fights than the iconic Mick Foley.

But there was actually a time in the eventual Mankind's life when the man known for putting it all on the line for his passionate, blood-thirsty fans felt those cheering on his savage acts had gone too far.

Whilst working in the land of extreme in the mid-'90s, Cactus Jack decided to do the unthinkable and turned his back on his excessively violent ways after spotting a sign in the crowd that read "Cane Dewey".

Dewey was Foley's eldest son, and the thought of sick fans thinking it was a good idea to put such a disturbing statement on a piece of cardboard forced the legend to justifiably reassess his place in the company and business as a whole.

Foley was soon done pandering to these horrendous fans and wanted to save the likes of Tommy Dreamer and others from making the same mistakes he did going forward.

In Mick's mind, this bunch of heartless supporters didn't care if ECW's fearless babyfaces completely destroyed their bodies in the ring for their entertainment.

So, why bother busting yourself open and putting yourself through hell for people who "wouldn't p*ss on you if you were on fire"? Fair point.
