10 Times Wrestling Legends Returned (And NOBODY Cared)
4. Vader (2005)
Vader is often heralded as one of pro wrestling's greatest big-men performers. His deft finesse immediately stripped him of the stereotypical proverbs associated with performers of his size; Vader was no cumbersome, heavy-footed bozo, but rather a seasoned and potent striker whose slap to the head was equally-as-calamitous as dropping his 450-pound frame on whichever goober was foolish enough to get on his bad side.
When Vader returned to WWE programming in 2005, these undertones he'd made a career out of eluding quickly became his own state of mind.
Resurfacing on a 2005 Halloween broadcast of Raw, he lumbered through a beatdown of then-World Heavyweight Champion Batista, aiding Goldust and Jonathan Coachman - the whole thing reads as some WWE Universe Mode simulation booking.
What was worse, aside from the complete 360 in Vader's previously ingenious presentation and the audience's lethargic reaction, was that Vader appeared to jump his cue. He bundled onto the stage while Goldust was in control. It wasn't as if Batista had gained the upper-hand by the time Vader made it to the ring either; he stood idly by Coachman, waiting for Batista to strike Goldust before he himself struck 'The Animal'. The whole thing was a big mess that, thankfully, was redeemed for 'The Mastadon' when he made another cameo 2012.
