10 Times Wrestling Shows Became Total Anarchy

8. Seth Rollins Meet & Greet Incites Rioting And Looting (Chile, 2016)

Of all wrestling shows, you would expect a routine photo and autograph gig to be a relatively calm and happy affair, where wrestlers can interact with their fans without risking injury. There may be the occasional overzealous attendent but for the majority, these events are huge ego boosts. Yet, in Chile, such an event turned out to be more dangerous than twenty consecutive buckle bombs.

Seth Rollin’s 2016 appearance at the Ripley Costanera Center Mall (Santiago, Chile) was forced to end after ten minutes due to the mass hysteria whipped up in the crowd. This reaction took all those involved in planning the event by surprise as there had been no prior indication that Rollins was so revered in that part of the world.

The above video merely captured the beginning of the event before the riot had ignited. No footage exists of it in full flow. Being in a mall, the riot soon turned into mass damage and looting, on par with George A. Romero’s horror satire of consumerism Dawn of the Dead.
