10 Times Wrestling Shows Became Total Anarchy

7. Masked Fan Vs. Jeff Jarrett And The Locker Room (TNA, 2006)

A solo fan, whose common sense had been lost behind a Rey Mysterio replica mask, incited havoc with his repeated antagonising of Jeff Jarrett. From the front row, he continually shouted abuse, flipped off Double J, and leapt onto the barrier like a fool.

The masked man-child was coaxed by a few members of the crowd with encouraging words and back pats that morphed into shoves. We can only assume they were hoping to see the goof have some sense beat into him with an exploding guitar.

After he cleared the barrier, faux-Rey channelled The Undertaker’s slow stroll to the ring and took the steps. Before the masked moron could reach the ropes, Jarrett threw a few rights and a kick, before locking in a chokehold.

A blurred and frantic mass of referees and security piled onto the two men as the intruding fan struggled in vain. Despite the situation being in control, the locker room too was angered by the intrusion, as wrestlers began heading to the ring. James Storm, Matt Hardy, and Samoa Joe all got their digs in on El Regretico. The disorder was like a lowbrow rendering of Eugène Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People.
