10 Times WWE Almost Made A New Star (Then Totally Blew It)
4. Seth Rollins
Like Bray Wyatt, it's unfair to claim that WWE never turned Rollins into a star. He's climbed to the top of the mountain a fair few times and is a significant figure on the roster. Still, there was one moment where he could have been launched into the deep reaches of space and turned into one of the best babyface heroes in the business, but WWE ruined it completely.
During Rollins' first WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign, he received an injury and was taken out of action for roughly seven months. When he returned at the 2016 Extreme Rules PPV and delivered a pedigree to Roman Reigns, he truly set the building ablaze.
Fans were so happy to see him, as they were still responding negatively to Roman and were overjoyed by this former champion's re-emergence. All WWE needed to do to pull the trigger on a massive evolution for his career was make him a babyface, but instead, they opted to revert him back to being a heel.
This was a massive disappointment, and although he would recapture the WWE Championship, he would lose it to Ambrose almost immediately thanks to a Money in the Bank cash in. Rollins was a star at the time and still is now, but a heroic run when he had the most fan support he's ever experienced in his career could have made him a face of the company.
