10 Times WWE Almost Made A New Star (Then Totally Blew It)
5. Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt is one of the most up and down superstars in the history of WWE. While he is a decent star, there have been many opportunities to turn him into a top-figure. But each one was botched through ill-thought-out booking, weird gimmicks, and idiotic mistakes.
Some of the most notable creative missteps include his loss to Goldberg, a bizarre rivalry with Dean Ambrose, and the ridiculous Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins. However, the worst thing WWE ever did to Wyatt was placing him in a feud with John Cena.
During 2012-2014, Wyatt was one of the most exciting characters on the programme. His cult leader gimmick was a spooky breath of fresh air, and he could back it up with great promos and in-ring work. He was red hot with the fans, who sang his songs and partook in his entrances.
However, his rivalry with John Cena dissipated all of his mystique, as not only was it full of cheap "supernatural" shenanigans, but he relied heavily on the Wyatt Family's interferences. This made him look weak, and eventually, he lost their match at WrestleMania.
Going over clean on Cena would have launched Bray into the stratosphere and given us a phenomenal new megastar. Instead, he ended up rising and falling through reinventions and subsequent losses too many times to count.
