10 Times WWE Blatantly Ripped Off Their Own Angles

7. Ye Olde Anti-American Group

If you've never had the pleasure, then check out some of Bret Hart's work from 1997 on the Network. As the rating, raving leader of the revamped Hart Foundation, Bret was in his element, and he successfully became wrestling's hottest true heel by blaming America for the world's problems.

The Un-Americans? Not so much.

WWE's 2002 group consisted of Christian, Lance Storm, Test and eventually William Regal. The initial concept was a blatant knock-off of the Foundation's Canadian patriotism and hatred for all things USA. Sadly for everyone concerned, it didn't really take off; Bruce Prichard revealed on his pod that the guys weren't really into the gimmick.

If anyone thought WWE would give up on anti-American groups, they were wrong. The League Of Nations (Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Alberto Del Rio and Rusev) was another take on 'Old Glory' bashing in 2015, but that didn't last long either.
