Sticking with a routinely bonkers 2020 now, and to the time when Da Man suddenly decided he wasn't in the mood to lay down for a monstrous Universal Champion.

As WrestleMania 36 edged closer, all signs appeared to be pointing to a showdown between two of WWE's most prominent figures, with Roman Reigns looking fully set on colliding with Bray Wyatt's Fiend on the Grandest Stage for the latter's title. There was just the small matter of a Super ShowDown Saudi show to plough through first.

And that's when sh*t hit the proverbial fan as big Bill angled for more creative control in an attempt to keep his character from being damaged by a Fiend-ish defeat. It was also reported by WrestleZone's Bill Pritchard that Goldberg felt it was vital that his character overcome the villainous monster, maintaining his aura as something of a "superhero" with younger fans.

With Wyatt reportedly accepting these demands too, a late call was made official and a new Universal Champion was swiftly crowned in the lead-up to one of the oddest and most surreal 'Manias ever to see the light of day.
