10. Test (1999)

There's an alternate dimension in which Test runs NXT, is married to Stephanie McMahon in real life and can look back on a trophy-laden career stacked with 14 World Titles. Maybe that would've been the ex-bodyguard's future had the WWF not aborted his push in 1999 and moved on without really giving him another go.

Before Triple H bounded out and scooped up Steph for himself, Test seemed destined for big things. He had a great look that Vince McMahon surely loved, was athletic for a dude his size and was young enough that the company could mould him how they wished. Post-marriage drama though, everything went to sh*t.

Test, who had soundly beaten Stephanie's brother Shane at SummerSlam and was slowly gaining traction with the fans, was moved into a tag team with Albert that only existed to highlight Trish Stratus' breasts (T&A). When the company were ready to try again mid-Invasion in 2001, it was too little, too late.

The guy didn't have top promo skills, but they gave up way too soon.
