10 Times WWE Failed To Pass The Torch

Let's face it: Bray Wyatt should have become the top paranormal entity in WWE long before he first reared 'The Fiend's horrific head in 2019.

You could argue that one match in particular would have sped up his ascension to the top of the card. If he'd successfully been handed the other-worldly torch by The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31, perhaps Wyatt could have enjoyed the same level of success he does now way back in 2015.

Wyatt was on fire in the weeks preceding the two's clash at 'Mania 31 and he single-handedly captivated audiences with his goading of 'The Deadman', claiming that he was in fact 'The New Face of Fear'.

Yet, despite Wyatt doing the majority of the heavy lifting in the build-up and fans clearly being eager to see him thrown into a spot where he could pose a real threat to the company's top titles in the future, 'Taker went over Wyatt and his momentum was scuppered.

Wyatt would meander in the wake of this definitive defeat at the hands of 'The Phenom' and instead of receiving the torch of being the company's new terrifying big bad, he felt like a joke and fans would begin to lose interest in his constant ramblings.
