https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6ff6oD_5ck On the June 27th, 2011 edition of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk sat at the top of the entrance ramp and delivered an impassioned speech. It was a vicious, brutally honest series of statements that covered the last six years of Punk's tenure in the WWE. Fed up with the WWE's lack of vision in creating new stars and allowing men like him to grab the brass ring, Punk presented a very clear message. With his contract set to expire in three weeks, he was booked to face John Cena at Money in the Bank for the WWE Championship. And he was going to leave with that title in his possession, never to return again. From his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, CM Punk defeated Cena in a classic match and did just as he promised. Punk returned to the WWE on July 25th, 2011 with a new theme and the WWE Championship he had already won. Punk had become the Voice of the Voiceless, speaking for all the fans and wrestlers who felt the way he did. He wanted change, just as the IWC did. He became the lone outlaw in the harsh WWE landscape, an anti-hero that soon became pushed as the top dog. Holding onto the WWE Championship for an astounding 434 days, defeating the likes of Chris Jericho, Kane, Daniel Bryan and Ryback. It was a dream come true for the IWC. Their hero, the chosen son and future king of pro wrestling, was the man. It eventually came to an end when Punk lost the title in a questionable decision against the Rock at the Royal Rumble. And more than a few fans were a bit iffy on the way Punk's reign was booked, as he was seemingly still playing second fiddle to the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton. But no matter the endgame, the Summer of Punk fulfilled the wishes of the IWC in more ways than one. Have you got another moment handy where the WWE listened to the pleas of the IWC? Did I miss a few? Sound off and let's hear about your favorite time when the WWE listened to the most vocal fanbase in the world!
