10 Times WWE Got Buyer's Remorse

7. Sin Cara

Booker T rather comically suggested that "Sin Cara p*ssed Sheamus off" during his April 2011 Monday Night Raw debut. It's likely Triple H and Vince McMahon were already pretty narked too.

The new masked superstar had saved Daniel Bryan from a beating at the hands of the 'Celtic Warrior' by making his presence felt in person for the very first time after weeks of vignettes daring to position him as a replacement for Rey Mysterio.

Foreshadowing what became the prevailing narrative of the former CMLL megastar Mistico's troubled tenure, Cara botched his spectacular trampoline-assisted entrance before unconvincingly taking down his far larger opponent. A springboard dive to the floor just about saved the segment, but his first impression hadn't exactly been stellar. It wasn't just himself he was fighting for, either.

Long before he took the reins of NXT or talent development in general, Triple H's first major stab at a high profile acquisition was the Mexican star. Set up initially to succeed with the aforementioned promotional muscle, this and other poor early performances cast Cara as a profound flop - something 'The Game' predictably distanced himself from at the earliest opportunity.
