10 Times WWE Introduced Something Cool (Then Panicked And Took It Away)

9. Mixed Match Challenge

Speaking of WWE's social media presence, in recent times they decided to seriously engage with their audience on Facebook by introducing them to the Mixed Match Challenge on Facebook Watch in January 2018.

At first, many recoiled at the idea of yet another throw away show - in the same vein of a Superstars or Main Event - but fans quickly realised that this programme was being treated as a free hit by all those taking part.

Sami Zayn and Becky Lynch were allowed to indulge in their charismatic personalities - which were hidden on Raw and SmackDown at the time - and stars such as Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman managed to get themselves even more over with the WWE Universe throughout the inter-gender tag tournament.

The fact that the winning team - in the original season - were also gifted $100,000 to give to their chosen charity, was the icing on the cake of a thoroughly enjoyable tonic to the sometimes gruelling main roster television.

Yet, after the second season had reached its conclusion and the charitable gift was replaced with a number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble/all expenses paid trip for each competitor, the show was stolen away in the night. This was probably down to poor viewing figures. As the top stars got injured throughout the tournament, WWE lost interest in the show and sadly so did the fans.

Stick to its original prize, commit to the premise and let the stars cut loose, Vince. You were onto a winner and it was taken away too soon.
