10 Times WWE Made Us Ashamed To Be Wrestling Fans
8. Val Venis And The Choppy Choppy
The Attitude Era was absolutely not shy about promoting risqué content, and most blatant was the character of Val Venis, the wrestling porn star.
Venis made a career of seducing seemingly every woman he caught sight of, and would often be seen making “another lucky lady’s dream come true”. All of this debauchery came at a price, as one of the ladies he got a little too friendly with happened to be the wife of Yamaguchi-San, the manager of the Japanese Kaientai stable.
Upon learning of this, Kaientai threatened to do serious damage to Venis with a samurai sword (because the WWF at the time was all about racial sensitivity), as best remembered by Yamaguchi-San’s infamous line, “I choppy-choppy your pee-pee!” years before Ramsay Bolton was doing the same on Game of Thrones.
Fortunately for Val and the lucky ladies, a timely shrinkage and assist from similarly threatened man John Wayne Bobbitt saved him from being emasculated, and Venis escaped intact, although he learned to steer clear of Mrs. Yamaguchi. So ended one of the most nonsensical storylines the WWF had produced… until a few weeks later, most likely. The Attitude Era was odd.
