7. Mae Young And Mark Henry

Mark Henry has had a funny old career. He was signed to the WWF for an unusually long ten-year contract in 1996 after an incredible powerlifting career, but rumour had it that Vince McMahon suffered buyer’s remorse and decided that the best thing to do would be to try and convince Henry to quit. He tried to do this by booking Henry into a series of ever more humiliating storylines, which peaked with The World’s Strongest Man romancing septuagenarian Mae Young.

Henry, however, put his all into these storylines, and seemed to be having a ball interacting with Mae. He was on hand to cover Mae’s modesty when the latter participated in the Miss Royal Rumble contest in 2000, where she infamously appeared to be topless in front of the capacity crowd. Their union eventually resulted in pregnancy, but after suffering a splash from another giant of a man, Viscera, Mae gave birth to… a hand.

All of this obviously had next to nothing to do with wrestling, and although some people couldn’t look away out of fascination, it’s not looked back upon fondly. WWE even sent this up themselves by introducing Mae’s “son” on the 1000th episode of Raw, played by a man in a giant hand costume.
