10 Times WWE Purposefully Lied To The Fans

9. Inflating Attendance Figures

Okay so this is hardly a surprise but if we're talking about the lies Vince and every other promoter has ever sold us, how can I not bring this up? One of the oldest traditions in wrestling history is to lie about the attendance figures. Why? Because Vince wants us all to believe that professional wrestling is the most popular and must-see spectacle on the planet. I really can't fault them for that. When you want your business to be successful, you present it as successful. It works in every business. Nonetheless though it just seems odd that WWE insists on exaggerating numbers that can a) be easily disproved and b) sound impressive enough without inflation. How many times have we heard WWE bragging about how WrestleMania III drew 93000 fans? Wouldn't you know that the real figure is closer to 87000. I mean those a figure like that really need to be inflated?

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
