10 Times WWE Put Its Talent In Impossible Positions

4. The Stalker Unmasks As Diamond Dallas Page

Sticking with the WCW theme, Diamond Dallas Page was completely and utterly hamstrung when he made his WWF bow in 2001.

DDP was one of those few heavy WCW hitters who opted to accept WWF's offer of a contract buyout rather than stay at home for more money. From a manager, to an enhancement talent, to a lower card guy, Page had remarkably turned himself into one of World Championship Wrestling's most popular stars by the time the company was assimilated by WWF.

A three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion who had generated huge reactions as the People's Champion of Ted Turner's rasslin' promotion, DDP was one of those legit top names who was surely a can't-miss main event player for WWF.

The problem here, though, was that the Master of the Diamond Cutter was stripped of so much of what made his act work, with WWF debuting him as the perverted voyeur who had been stalking Undertaker's wife.

Sure, inserting Page straight into a feud with 'Taker was not to be sniffed at, but utilising DDP as a creepy heel was cutting the legs out from under Master of the Diamond Cutter before he could ever get going.

DDP's WWF tenure lasted just a year, with him soon going from eerie perv to insta-smiling lower card babyface before departing the company in June 2002 after neck issues.
