7. Going Solo
The whole point of Bray Wyatt’s character was to be a David Koresh-like cult leader. So WWE creative’s brilliant idea was… to take away his followers? Huh?
The move to separate Bray from Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in late September 2014 had immediate consequences, as Bray got the dreaded “creative has nothing for you” curse and was taken off television for a month, surfacing only at Hell in the Cell to cost Dean Ambrose the cell match against Seth Rollins.
Wyatt’s promos during the feud with Ambrose lacked their typical sting because he suddenly wasn’t with his back-up, and it sounded like the rambling incoherent thoughts of that homeless person on the street corner that everybody ignores. Wyatt won the feud against Ambrose at TLC, but nobody seemed to care.
