10 Times WWE Screwed Up With Seth Rollins
6. Paying Dues
When Brock Lesnar won the WWE Title at SummerSlam and left the company for an autumn vacation, it was no longer the belt that mattered - it was exposure, and Rollins had more of that than anyone. He entered into a feud with John Cena, which culminated in a tables match at TLC 2014.
The bout was good, with both men simultaneously crashing through tables and forcing the match to be restarted, and tons of interference. Eventually, though, Cena got a win that he didn't really need, which did Rollins no favors. Though getting beaten by Cena may be something of a rite of passage, Rollins was the newcomer to the main event scene, and his depiction as a guy who always relied on help gave him the perception that he didn't belong there.
To make matters worse, the Royal Rumble main event - scheduled to be Brock versus Cena for the title - became a triple threat when The Authority added Rollins. With that being the plan anyway, would it really have hurt for "The Architect" to put Cena through a table the month before?
