10 Times WWE Seriously Disrespected Hall Of Famers
6. Cryme Tyme Sell Lita's Personal Belongings
Poor Lita. She really deserved better on her last night with the company. After literally breaking her neck for the WWE and having to go through the whole Edge/Matt Hardy situation being made public, Lita had suffered a lot during her time there. Lita was the reigning Women's Champion going into Survivor Series 2006 and had made it known that Survivor Series 2006 would be her last night in the company.
Lita's longtime rival Trish Stratus left the company two months earlier at Unforgiven, winning the Women's Championship in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. Trish got one of the best sendoffs in company history, making Lita tap out cleanly in the middle of the ring with the sharpshooter as she broke down in tears and received a standing ovation.
It was a touching moment, and a nice gesture on WWE's part. In wrestling, it is common practice to do the job on the way out but WWE wavered that to give Trish and the fans a nice moment. Would Lita benefit from the same type of sendoff as one of her best friends? Not exactly. Lita was a heel (and a hated one at that) and WWE felt they had to beat and humiliate her on her way out.
Now, having her lose the title to Mickie James is fair enough, but the post-match shenanigans were mean-spirited and disrespectful, considering all Lita had done for the company. After the match, new tag team Cryme Tyme came out from the back with a box of Lita's personal belongings, which they proceeded to sell to the fans in attendance. On sale were Lita's underwear, yeast infection cream and vibrator.
While doing this they made several unsavoury comments and jokes about Lita's private life. Lita sold the segment well, but she can't have been happy about it.
