8. Eddie Guerrero & Chris Benoit - One Night Stand 2005
One Night Stand 2005 was a dream come true for ECW fans: a big bloody PPV event at the promotion's sacred Hammerstein Ballroom. One match on the card featured two of the best to ever lace up, best friends Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. Come the night of the show, Latino Heat and the Rabid Wolverine put on a serviceable match without quite living up to the quality that their resume demands.
It turns out that the two of them were not exactly seeing eye-to-eye at the time. There was apparently an argument between them backstage, with Eddie not being happy with working the event. The two were also likely peeved at the constant chants chastising WWE Diva Lita, who had nothing to do with the match.
During the match itself, it's clear Eddie wasn't giving it his all - and Benoit called him on it several times in the ring. At the finish of the bout, when Guerrero tapped to the Crippler Crossface, the two men stared at each other, with the Crippler looking particularly furious. Eddie was angry too, but he clearly knew he was in the wrong, saying to his friend "I owe you one". The heat was raised to the point that the two didn't speak for some time afterwards.
