A big return can bring on a myriad of emotions for a wrestler. Daniel Bryan's always-smiling face when he returned to the ring, Braun Strowman struggling to keep it together as he marched to decimate tag teams again, or soaking in the atmosphere like CM Punk's return to wrestling in 2021.

The return of Edge was something else. Having been forced into retirement due to deteriorating neck issues in 2011, Edge was told that he should never wrestle again for fear of paralysis. But years later, a motorbike accident in which he escaped unscathed made him think that it could happen again.

After consulting several doctors, he was given the all clear and made a surprise return at the 2020 Royal Rumble. As per his normal entrance, he was hyping the crowd to the sound of Alter Bridge but after a few moments of this he stopped to look around, taking in the roar and adoration of the crowd. Suddenly his intense facial expressions were replaced with an overflowing of emotion, almost bursting into tears of joy.

Eventually able to compose himself, he gave a performance worthy of his legacy, eventually lasting until the final three in the Rumble match.
