10 Times WWE Stars Were Scapegoats For Bad Booking

8. Bray Wyatt

No, I'm not referring to Bray Wyatt's current run as The Fiend here, as he's arguably enjoying the finest moments of his career right now. I'm referring to his nascent years.

Coming out of NXT alongside his Wyatt Family brethren (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan), the son of Irwin R. Schyster was a hot prospect for the company. He was unique, both in look and in gimmick, and could out-talk pretty much anybody on the roster. Many wrestling fans even went as far to say that he would act as a spiritual successor to The Undertaker, which is one hell of an endorsement.

But, as we all know, that didn't happen.

Inexplicably, WWE booked Bray to lose just about every major match that he had. So, instead of being seen as an untouchable, supernatural heel, fans started to see him as a blathering, self-righteous madman who couldn't back up... whatever the hell it was he was rambling about all that time. His situation became so dire that fans would regularly tune out from his segments, which is certainly the biggest insult to any entertainer.

Thank goodness that Wyatt gave himself some time off to rework his character, because otherwise, he likely would've floundered even more.
