10 Times WWE Totally BOTCHED WrestleMania
7. Trying To Follow The Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania 25)
Some incoming clashes have instantly iconic written all over them.
So, rather than trying to follow something on the level of a Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock on the Grandest Stage of Them All, the smart move would be to end WrestleMania with this absolute blockbuster encounter.
But, of course, WWE foolishly decided to follow that Icon vs. Icon battle with a women's championship bout and World title clash at WrestleMania X8. And rather than learning from the mistake of trying to follow-up an unmatchable all-timer seven years later, history unfortunately repeated itself at WrestleMania XXV.
Putting together arguably the greatest match in the event's history, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels produced unquestionable wrestling magic in front of their home state crowd. It was a contest so legendary, Triple H knew pretty quickly that trying to follow it would be an uphill battle.
Sure enough, both the World Heavyweight Champion three-way and The Game and Randy Orton's dud of a main event struggled to end the night on the sort of high that had been experienced in that prior battle for the ages.
Thankfully, the penny finally dropped a year later, with the company finally refusing to follow the pair's Career vs. Streak rematch at 'Mania XXVI.
