10 Times WWE Totally BOTCHED WrestleMania
5. CM Punk Still Doesn't Get His Main Event (WrestleMania 29)
In another case of WWE's refusal to book the obvious ultimately coming back to bite them squarely on the ass, the decision to not give CM Punk the main event spot he so desired and deserved easily ranks as one of the biggest botches in company history.
Had Vince and co. simply found a way to squeeze Phil Brooks into the Twice-in-a-Lifetime battle of the icons WWE Championship showdown, then there's likely a world where a somewhat satisfied Chick Magnet never decided enough was enough before walking out on all things Sports Entertainment.
But rather than injecting some much needed Best in the World into a contest that had diminishing returns written all over it, the call was made to chuck Punk into The Undertaker "main event" spot on the Grandest Stage and keep The Rock vs. John Cena as the real one-on-one top attraction.
'Taker and the Chick Magnet would most definitely steal the show on the night of 'Mania 29, sure. But there was still no getting around the fact that Punk had seen his Show of Shows main event dreams evaporate once again. And it was that snub, and the subsequent plans to have him battle Trips at 'Mania XXX, that ultimately paved the way for one of the most impactful WWE exits of all time.
