10 Times WWE Totally BOTCHED WrestleMania
3. Too Many McMahons (WrestleMania 2000)
What initially seemed like a fairly straightforward main event heading into WrestleMania 2000 very quickly turned into one of the most over-booked pieces of foolishness ever to close out the Show of Shows.
After winning that year's Royal Rumble, The Rock looked set to collide with the biggest heel in the company in Triple H, with the pair resuming their compelling rivalry on the Grandest Stage. But that would've been too easy, wouldn't it?
The attention was ultimately pulled away from this gripping one-on-one collision, instead bringing Big Show and Mick Foley into an eventual main event elimination four-way over the WWE Championship. And in an addition that only succeeded in further overshadowing the actual stars going at it in-between the ropes, a McMahon was dumped in each corner... because nothing sells a 'Mania quite like annoying, family drama, eh.
Admittedly, giving a recently retired Foley the main event spot he clearly deserved after years of putting his body through hell was a nice touch. It was just a shame it came in the thick of an entirely over-stuffed contest, complete with a typical headline-stealing Vince swerve late on, that saw Trips ultimately best The Great One to retain.
What could've been one of the strongest show-closers of the Attitude Era sadly ended up being remembered as little more than a McMahon-obsessed main event misfire.
