10 Times WWE Totally Wasted Potential

8. John Morrison

A combination of movie star good looks and some of the most innovative ring work WWE has ever seen looked at one point like it would be enough to take John Morrison to wrestling's peak.

Ultimately however, his career in the American mainstream is the familiar one of a deftly talented worker who - for whatever reason - was never quite considered a main event player.

And that is perhaps a little unfair given how many of his contemporaries - from Jack Swagger to Dolph Ziggler and Mark Henry - got their opportunity in the main event at one point or another around the time that he was entering his peak years.

As with many on this list, Morrison was harmed primarily by his perceived lack of ability on the microphone. This was true to some extent, but you only have to watch old clips from The Dirt Sheet to see he wasn't exactly Baron Corbin either.
