10 Times WWE Totally Wasted Potential

With most people reveling in the fallout of Lio Rush's Twitter storm, no-one really noticed that Emma greeted news of her release with a single heartbreak emoji.

The 28-year-old was perhaps mourning not only the fact that her WWE dream was over, but that it never really got started. The company just never had any solid plans for her that weren't doomed to failure due to problems not of her own making.

It's sad, especially given that we have evidence - albeit not much - that she really was a gifted wrestler, whose match with Asuka at TakeOver London was probably one of the best in NXT history.

Someone in the back, however, decided that her character was too vanilla to stand out on the main roster. The Emmalina experiment that followed was among the more bizarre debacles in recent memory, and made this news somewhat inevitable.
