10 Times WWE Treated Its Audience Like Children

3. The Very Existence Of Hornswoggle

Hornswoggle was such a quintessential Vince McMahon product that, really, it was hardly a surprise when he was revealed as an actual product of his semen in storylines. The very idea that he was a little person was the punchline - and try explaining that to somebody who doesn't care for wrestling, and is thus immune to McMahon's brand of toilet humour.

"See, the guy I've given more money to than charity has a childish sense of humour. It's just something we have to tolerate now and then."

"But...but why?"

"It's a little too early for an existential crisis. Please. Please don't."

Hornswoggle systematically annihilated suspension of disbelief by breaking up a Big Show pin attempt with his "tadpole" splash, dropping 'It's Only' Tyson Kidd with an AA at the Royal Rumble, and winning the Cruiserweight Title. "So you want vanilla midgets, huh pal?" McMahon definitely said the second he tired of his half-baked attempt at a Cruiser division. The only vaguely funny thing 'Swoggle ever did was show up in Impact Wrestling. It was the ultimate punchline to the "What's Sloppy Seconds Doing In The Impact Zone?" gag.

Honestly, they'd reanimate the corpse of Chris Benoit, if they had the technology.
