10 Times WWE Tried To Convince You Wrestlers Were Related
8. Paul & Katie Lea Burchill
At least Ryan and Ken were spared the indignity of working an incest angle. Paul and Katie Lea Burchill, aligned in 2008 and cast as brother and sister, were seemingly about to embark on one when WWE lost interest in both.
Ditching his old pirate gimmick in favour of hanging out with a trouble-making kayfabe sis wasn't the worst career move in the world for Burchill. Still, it was obvious to everyone watching that WWE's creative team didn't see much in him, and a move to the dying ECW brand before the end of the year spelled disaster for the pair.
Things could have been a lot worse had hints of a brother/sister sexual relationship been fully explored.
At times, Katie Lea acted like Paul's girlfriend, not his sister. The announcers played this up by suggesting things were a tad awkward, and then the whole idea was scrapped in favour of calling Burchill "The Nightmare" and putting him under a mask.
