How good is the rundown of the numbers before every Royal Rumble match?

WWE paints the picture of the biggest and best records that've been broken over the years in the 30-man contest, from how many people have won the whole thing from entry number one, to who's spent the least time in the match.

One of the most flaunted stats is how many times people have won back-to-back matches.

It happened a lot in the 1990s, then never again. Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin all managed it, then wrestlers had to wait a long time to get a second win. Batista, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Triple H have all won it twice, but they had to wait a number of years in between.

Austin won his second in 1998, then it was a different winner every January for 26 years.

Finally, WWE realised they had a star worthy of adding his name to the list of Hogan, Michaels, and Austin... and what a list that is by the way.

Cody Rhodes stamped his WrestleMania ticket in 2023, then lost to WWE's final boss: Roman Reigns. He's all about finishing the story though, so Rhodes was favourite to win it again the next year, even with CM Punk showing up out of nowhere at Survivor Series.

There it was.

Cody won it for a second time and it made sense to give it to him twice in a row. Now all he's got to do is win the title...
