10 Times WWE Was Legitimately The COOLEST Place On Planet Earth
8. Sting Finally Arrives In WWE
2014 was a particularly dark time in terms of coolness in the land of sports entertainment.
Outside of Daniel Bryan's epic underdog victory on 'The Grandest Stage', the rather excruciating year saw a rejected Batista win the Royal Rumble, CM Punk decide he'd had enough with this soul-crushing workplace, and the likes of the over-exposed Kane, Randy Orton, and John Cena were still largely dominating the main event scene.
But then some magical happened on the night of Survivor Series.
After already being confirmed as a playable wrestler in the upcoming WWE 2K15 video game, WCW legend Sting finally making his long-awaited WWE debut felt more likely than ever before.
Then, in the middle of a Team Cena vs. Team Authority main event, the eternally cool 'Icon' arrived in spectacular fashion.
In a debut unlike anything else of the era, the piercing sound of a crow squawking and the odd flash of that legendary face paint was enough to stop a dastardly Triple H in his tracks. And Sting then proceeding to make WWE feel like the hottest thing on television well into his 50s spoke volumes about the enduring power of the adored veteran.
This jaw-dropping arrival was sadly as good as it would get for 'Stinger' in WWE, of course. But not content with one unbelievably cool debut in the last decade, Sting added yet another breathtaking shock appearance to his collection at AEW's 2020 edition of Winter is Coming.
