Back in June 2011, John Cena was once again reigning supreme as WWE Champion. And outside of the occasional engaging appearance from 'The Great One', the WWE product as a whole felt rather flat in the months that followed a disappointing WrestleMania XXVII.

Then it happened.

After establishing himself as the new number one contender to Super Cena's strap, CM Punk unleashed a verbal explosion on the mic that quickly made mainstream headlines all over the globe on June 27. Blasting everyone from the boss, to "Dwaaaayne", 'The Best in the World' took absolutely no prisoners when shockingly criticising the way his workplace was run as his deal was set to expire.

And this blurring of the lines, with Punk's contract genuinely coming to an end in the lead-up to his WWE Championship bout with Cena, made Money in the Bank 2011 one of the most intriguing and anticipated events of all time.

Watching the 'Chick Magnet' not only beat the system, but blow a kiss to the boss on his way out of the Allstate Arena with his new title belt is still up there as one of the absolute coolest WWE visuals ever.

And it's just a shame the company didn't have the guts to keep this renegade off TV for longer than a few weeks in the wake of such a masterfully executed piece of business.
