10 Times WWE Went Wrong With Bayley On The Main Roster
9. Beating Charlotte Flair At Inappropriate Times (Raw, September 5/December 19, 2016)
Bayley's Raw debut went off without a hitch, as she engaged in a verbal exchange with Charlotte Flair and made quick work of Dana Brooke in their impromptu match. It was evident she was going to be immediately slotted into a feud with Charlotte as Banks recovered from the injury she seemingly suffered at SummerSlam, but WWE should have slowly built to that bout over the course of a few weeks, if not months.
Instead, their initial one-on-one encounter was given away on free television on the Labor Day edition of Raw without any prior hype. The match was good, sure, but Bayley looked like an equal to Charlotte throughout and ultimately scored the non-title victory. Usually, that would be a positive, but being the underdog she is, Bayley should not have beaten the champ so soon after arriving on the main roster.
WWE made the same exact mistake three months later when Charlotte was fresh off regaining the Raw Women's Championship from Sasha Banks at Roadblock: End of the Line...and Bayley defeated her the very next night in singles competition.
She is hardly an underdog when she has beaten Charlotte more times than she has lost to her.
