10 Times WWE Went Wrong With Bayley On The Main Roster

8. Her First Title Shot Arrived Way Too Soon (Clash Of Champions 2016)

With her win over Charlotte Flair on the Labor Day edition of Raw, Bayley earned the right to challenge for the Raw Women's Championship at Clash of Champions. However, plans changed when Sasha Banks was cleared to return to the ring ahead of schedule. Although Sasha Banks won a Triple Threat match on the September 12 Raw, Bayley was eventually inserted back into the bout.

In so many words, the build to the title match was confusing and poorly executed.

Worse yet, Bayley shouldn't have been chasing the championship so early, anyway. It was premature for her to go after the gold until at least WrestleMania 33, let alone win it, so rushing her into the title picture did nothing to help her development as a character.

As a result of her loss at the event (where she was the one pinned, by the way), she was knocked back down the ladder, and was forced to engage in a meaningless program with Dana Brooke heading into Hell in a Cell. It would have been better to just continue Banks vs. Charlotte one-on-one and hold off on Bayley's involvement until months down the road.
