Ever since Ronda Rousey was linked with a move to WWE shores, the concept of a Four Horsewomen of WWE vs. Four Horsewomen of MMA match was always on the cards for fans and on a few occasions, it's even looked like it could actually happen.
Yet, despite the WWE foursome definitely offering an interesting dynamic (with their conflicting histories) and easily being able to steal the show on any given night, Rousey and (current NXT Women's champ) Shayna Baszler aside, the other two potential former-MMA competitors simply aren't ready for the degree of spotlight that would come with this level of event.
Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir have potential, yes, but they're still cutting their teeth as Baszler's task force on NXT and any attempt to catapult them into a main event feud like this could reap disastrous consequences for their development.
As much as fans are impatiently yearning for this clash to be offered up as soon as, WWE are wisely waiting for the moment when all involved are in a position to make this the absolute classic it could undoubtedly be.
