10 Times WWE Wrestlers Got Burnt To A Crisp
4. Vince McMahon (Raw - 11 June 2007)
Leading up to 2007, it was widely speculated Vince McMahon no longer wanted to be a regular part of his shows and searched for a way to write off his character. By the spring of 2007, he found it.
Starting with the infamous Hair vs. Hair Match with Donald Trump at WrestleMania and a feud with Bobby Lashley soon after, fans watched as the chairman started to break down mentally.
To bring up his spirits, the 11 June 2007 episode of Raw was dubbed "Mr McMahon Appreciation Night,' but it did little good. If anything, his aura became more alarming.
By the end of Raw, McMahon walked through a hallway of supportive employees on his way to the parking lot, where he hesitantly entered a limousine. As the door shut, the vehicle exploded, ostensibly killing the billionaire trapped inside. The dark plotline came to an abrupt end after the Chris Benoit incident took place. WWE made sure to explain the chairman was perfectly fine, but the storyline needed to be scrapped in light of the tragedy.
Even without the surrounding events, the concept wasn't one of creative's shining moments. The company even made sure to distance itself from the stunt by first removing it and then retitling future replays as "McMahon stages his own demise" with the keyword being "stages."
