10 Times WWE Wrestlers Shot On The Fans
2. Ronda Rousey Doubles Down
When Ronda Rousey first appeared at WrestleMania 31, keeping The Rock company against The Authority, it was a cool cross-promotion. A few years later, when she moved to WWE full-time, it was a legitimately exciting time to be a fan, watching an MMA legend give pro wrestling some credence by moving from actual combat to staged combat. Her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 was met with acclaim by both fans and reviewers.
Oh, how a few years take the shine off.
At Survivor Series 2018, after a brutal match with Charlotte, the crowd turned on Rousey, leaving her visibly upset. This led to a downward spiral of growing heat with fans that culminated in a loss to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35, followed by her taking very deliberate time off.
In April 2020, she appeared on Steve-O's podcast and gave a blunt assessment of the fanbase, including comments like "...f***ing ungrateful fans..." and "...at the end of the day, I was like, f*** these fans, dude."
Ouch.
She clarified her comments on Twitter the next day, increasing her heat by questioning the toughness of fans and fellow wrestlers alike, who would never be able to survive a "real fight."
Nuclear heat achieved.
