10 Times WWE Wrestlers Were WAY Better Together Than Apart
1. D-Generation-X
There are perhaps no two performers more suited for working together that simply just couldn't create the magic on opposite sides than Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
Don't let WWE's firmly held narrative fool you - the two bonafide industry icons have contributed much, (and in Shawn's case can argue a place as the very best to ever grace the squared circle) but their overwrought matches were uniformly efforts in over-indulgence and exaggeration at the expense of action designed to delight by default.
Intended as a one-off for Shawn, their brutal brawl at SummerSlam 2002 was everything their story needed. Michaels, returning after four years to slay his vengeful former friend, did so in the most humbling and heroic of circumstances, before being re-shelved in an act of evil abuse from his embittered rival.
'HBK's remarkable comeback confounded many critics, but got off to a rotten start as the former DX duo desperately tried to outdo their own lofty standards again, and again, and again.
A 'Three Stages Of Hell' clash at Armageddon 2002 was a lazy bump-and-stunt festival that cost those lower on the pecking order the chance to go all out in their own matches. The same occurred in their heinously boring Hell In A Cell match at Bad Blood 2004, itself a sequel to a bloody and uninteresting Royal Rumble clash earlier that year.
