10 Times WWE Wrestlers Were WAY Better Together Than Apart

4. The Shield

The reactions to the recent coming together of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have told the true story of The Shield. Fans didn't just 'Believe' in them as characters, they cared deeply for the act, and still felt they had more to give as a group despite repeated rivalry retreads since their 2014 collapse.

The reality was, matches featuring Rollins, Ambrose, and Roman Reigns as opponents could never live up to fantasy booking pedestals so many supporters had placed them on, with their triple threat WWE Title match at 2016's Battleground pay-per-view under-delivering in the way most 'Lunatic Fringe' title matches (and most 'Architect' title shots) did.

Undeniably superstars for the modern age despite countless roadblocks implanted in their respective paths by rotten booking and unpredictable fan sentiment, nothing has galvanised support behind any of the three quite like their unity. A tease of a comeback for the trifecta even momentarily afforded the Raw vs SmackDown Survivor Series elimination match one of its hottest moments, and the SummerSlam tag title victory had many wishing for the full band to get back together in the main event.

As it stands, WWE are still persisting with a relentless effort to get Roman Reigns over as (and this is a quote) 'the next John Cena', but nothing would thrill audiences more than if 'The Big Dog' abandoned his yard for The Shield's violent playground.
