10 Tiny Details About Wrestling Characters You Never Noticed

6. Paige's Name Points To Her Past

Although Paige is known to yell, "This is my house", she should actually shout, "This is my castle".

Her ring name is pretty clever. Growing up in Norwich, England, the Brit learned about the wrestling business from her mother and father. They created the Knight family dynasty on the UK scene. Remember that name, because it's important. Paige's WWE ring name is a hidden homage to their success.

The name Paige is of Latin origin, and roughly means "young helper of nobles". Typically, it's linked to young males who were there to assist the aristocracy, but in this instance it works for females too. As a kid, Paige would help her parents run shows in the local Norfolk area. In other words, she was aiding Knights.

That's...bloody in-depth, and it shows another layer to the name young Saraya-Jade chose when she took the plunge, left her family behind and moved to the States as a teenager. Or, maybe this is widely off base and it's a total coincidence. Fascinating nonetheless.
