José Estrada Sr. and Jose Luis Rivera are remembered for their golden outfits and hard graft as Los Conquistadores. Their run in the late-80s is curious to those who love classic tag team wrestling, but they'd never really come close to winning the WWF Tag Team Title.

Why the heck are they here then? Well, it's quite the story.

In 2000, Edge and Christian were kayfabe-banned from challenging The Hardy Boyz for the tag belts ever again. So, they reached into ye olde bag of forgotten gimmicks, hauled out the gold gear and claimed to be Los Conquistadores. They'd even become champs at No Mercy 2000, and then try to legitimise the win by facing extras dressed as the Estrada and Rivera.

Later, it was revealed that Matt and Jeff had stolen the costumes, won a match 24 hours later on Raw and become champs all over again. WWE don't recall the Conquistadores nonsense in their Tag Title history books at all.
